The Friendship tomato

Edith and I have become good friends. She is big on fixing up the outside of our little house, especially the landscaping. I do more on the inside. In honor of our friendship, we've been passing the tomato. I planted cherry tomatoes on the East side of the house. They get sun but apparently not enough. The foliage on the plants is so heavy that it is shading the tomatoes. Maybe I planted them too close to each other. There's a fine row of cherry tomatoes hanging off one plant which gets more sun than the rest. The tomatoes are turning red two by two.
One day Edith announced she'd eaten one of the tomatoes and it was fabulous! So the next tomato was mine. When it was ripe enough, I ate it and had to agree- one of the best tomatoes I've ever eaten! Now we take turns picking and eating our little tomatoes. Today Edith went to the dike, where vendors have a Farmer's Market. So guess what she just gave me. It's a little bigger than the ones I'm growing and I'm saving it for later. I've dubbed it the Friendship Tomato. So, to all my friends I wish you tomatoes. May all your tomatoes be red, juicy, sweet, and just as good as ours.
